Description
There are so many things to see in California and this is just one of them.
Just out side of Yosemite National Park this image shows the lower level of light pollution.
Also in California the giant Sequoia tree is only found in California. It can stand at approximately 280 feet tall and up to 100 foot in circumference at the base. Sequoia National Park and Yosemite National Park in Mariposa grove are the main spots where these mammoth trees are found. General Sherman is found in Sequoia National park and is considered to be the largest tree by volume in the world. There are also four other trees in the immediate vicinity of General Sherman that are among the ten largest trees in the world by volume. Sequoias are not the same as Coastal Redwoods which actually grow taller but and not as big around or in overall volume.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the oldest franchises in Major League Baseball and also one of the most dominant having been to the second most world series and fourth most titles. Seen here is there Stadium Chavez Ravine found at Vin Scully Way. Vin Scully was the Radio broadcaster for the Dodgers for over 60 years… longest in mlb history and perhaps sports history.
San Francisco is home to Fishermans Wharf as well as Alcatraz and the well known trolly cars that were for many years featured in Rice a Toni commercials. It also has Lombard street which is considered and most probably is the most crooked street in the world with hundreds of tourists flocking to see it in person every day.
Big Sur is a long stretch of the California Coastline that uses highway one and is considered to be one of the most scenic drives in the world. It stretches from about the halfway point from Los Angeles and San Francisco to about the point of two thirds north from L.A. to San Francisco.
L.A. also boasts the La Brea tar pits and the Griffith observatory as well as Hollywood and its famous sign. This is not to say there aren’t many more points of interest, but this should cover any in my California Collection.
